David Golan Portfolio
A graduate of Johns Hopkins University in psychology and film, I have a strong background in film and video production. This is my portfolio - a collection of the works I have produced.
Experimental and Lost & Found Productions
My work tends to be more experimental in nature than any other genre. I have always been interested in how to evoke emotional responses from the viewer via the moving image. Please bear in mind that most of these works were produced specifically to be projected in a theater environment.
Digital Video Productions
I was inspired by the materiality and physicality of film and the time and work involved in shooting film to be more contemplative in my work. On the other hand, video can often be a quick and dirty medium, which often encourages me to create more fast paced and colorful work.
Sketch Comedy
These comedy shorts were produced while a member and video director of Throat Culture, a sketch comedy group at Hopkins.
Interactive Media and Animation
As a student at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, I am interested in further exploring emotional responses through interactive mediums. My film and video background gives me insight into the production and deconstruction of the moving image. I am looking forward to my work work evolving in such fields as persuasive games, interactive documentary, and emerging technologies.
